If you’re working at an office you know all about a stuffy head, square eyes and a sore back after a few hours of sitting behind your desk. So, what can we do about it? Well, it’s time to take a stance against sitting –  and bring your comfy shoes.

Visual art and architecture studio RAAAF (Rietveld Architecture-Art-Affordances) and visual artist Barbara Visser designed an art installation called The End of Sitting, an office environment with nowhere to sit. Wow! This futuristic office encourages employees to lean, perch or even lie down on huge 3D objects.

‘In our society almost the entirety of our surroundings have been designed for sitting, while evidence from medical research suggests that too much sitting has adverse health effects,’ says RAAAF. ‘We have developed a concept wherein the chair and desk are no longer unquestionable starting points.’

Welcome to your future office!
